Has technology killed daylight savings time?

I had no idea, until about an hour ago, that Daylight Savings Time ended this morning. I'm still not even completely sure whether we gained or lost an hour. You would think that being oblivious to this fact would screwed with my whole day, but everything went off without a hitch. I guess I have technology to thank for this. It's been years since I've owned a watch, or had an analog clock hanging on my wall. Now I rely exclusively on cell phone displays and computer screens for the time, all of which have constant network connections updating their time against online servers. I remember back when Day Light Savings Time was a huge deal. Everyone you ran into the night before would try and remind you to set your clock back. This time there wasn't a peep from anyone. It still boggles my mind.
